I love to paint beach scenes with sandy dunes and tides rushing in, and it is always fun to paint peaceful streams flowing along tree lined river banks, but nothing energizes me more artistically than painting cities on water. The charming canals of Bruges Belgium, and the lively seaways of Venice are beautiful vacation memories for me.  And I find the mix of urban architecture, along with the play of light and sparkling reflections on the water to be very magical.   These beautiful cities  are the perfect subjects for a colorist like myself to paint, and I feel compelled to capture their essence and  unique charm  by using a palette full of vibrant bold colors.   I strive to communicate the effervescene and energy of each and every city I paint, and there certainly is no denying my facination with these waterways to the sea.
